3 reasons why the Milwaukee Bucks should pursue a Justin Holiday trade
No. 3 – Justin Holiday’s family ties with the Milwaukee Bucks could help facilitate a move
Of course, Justin Holiday is the older brother of the star point guard for the Bucks, Jrue Holiday. As a result, Holiday would likely be open to a move to Milwaukee.
Justin has played in the NBA with Aaron Holiday, the youngest brother of the Holiday brothers, but has not been on the same team as Jrue (yet). The three Holiday bros are known for becoming the first trio of brothers to play in the same game in league history.
If Justin Holiday were to welcome a trade elsewhere, the Milwaukee Bucks would most likely be his top choice. Additionally, the Pacers would likely do right by their long-tenured guy by giving Justin a chance to compete for a title with his brother.
We’ve seen this situation occur before across the league with non-contending teams working with their well-respected players to help facilitate a trade to a contender. We saw it with P.J. Tucker’s move from Houston to the Bucks last year and most recently with former Buck Bryn Forbes’ move from San Antonio to Denver, so don’t be surprised if the same situation happens with Justin Holiday.
Due to his family ties within the organization, his availability and affordability, and his skill set being an ideal fit to Budenholzer’s system and schemes, Justin Holiday should become a prime trade target for the Milwaukee Bucks as we approach the 2022 NBA trade deadline.
