Assessing Clutch Points’ Montrezl Harrell trade for the Milwaukee Bucks
By Dalton Sell
With the 2022 NBA trade deadline just over a week away, the Milwaukee Bucks are reportedly on the hunt for some size in the frontcourt. According to Bleacher Report’s Jake Fischer, Milwaukee is poking around the trade market for another big man, and there is no shortage of options for the defending champions to pursue.
An interesting name that not many fans may have considered is the former Sixth Man of the Year winner Montrezl Harrell. As highlighted in another report from B/R’s Fischer, Harrell is considered available in trades leading up to the February 10 deadline amidst another incredibly tough season for the Washington Wizards. As the Bucks look to bolster their center position, Harrell could be someone they at least kick the tires on.
Despite Milwaukee’s shortage of assets, Clutch Points’ Jon Conahan recently put together a deal that would see the Bucks acquire the big man from the Wizards, and it is interesting.
Clutch Points’ proposed Montrezl Harrell trade for Milwaukee Bucks
As always, we will start with the financial side of things, given that it can always be the biggest deterrent for the Bucks in any trade. To acquire what remains of Harrell’s $9.7 million salary for the rest of this season, Milwaukee would trade away the combined salaries of Donte DiVincenzo ($4.7 million), Rodney Hood ($2.2 million), and Semi Ojeleye ($1.8 million) in this proposed deal.
This one could create some divided opinions, so let us break down this trade by looking at the logic, the lunacy, and an overall verdict on whether or not the Bucks should do it.
