The verdict in the Milwaukee Bucks trading for rumored target Cedi Osman

The Bucks likely will not be bringing in Osman before the deadline, and their phone call to the Cavaliers was likely just exploratory. While Osman is a fine player, the Bucks need to shift their focus to finding a center before looking at more wings. The team is hurting nightly due to this absence of a legitimate backup big, and who knows how long they can continue to go without one.

The latest rumors would also suggest that the Bucks would be hesitant about trading DiVincenzo in a deal like this. According to HoopsHype’s Michael Scotto, DiVincenzo has drawn considerable interest about the league in trades, but the Bucks want to keep him unless they get a player who will help them win this season. Though Osman could help the champs win, he is not viewed as the needle-tipper that it would likely take for Milwaukee to move DiVincenzo.

All in all, Osman seems like a player that will remain a trade rumor over the next few days. It would be incredibly surprising to see the small forward dealt to Milwaukee in any deal, but who knows what general manager Jon Horst has up his sleeve. Hopefully it involves a center because this team could sure use one right now.
