The Milwaukee Bucks should call the Sacramento Kings before the 2022 NBA Trade Deadline

Recent rumors have led many to believe that something may be brewing between the Bucks and the Sacramento Kings before the upcoming trade deadline. As reported by The Sacramento Bee’s Jason Anderson early last month, the Bucks recently sent scouts to a matchup between the Kings and the Cleveland Cavaliers, which is not incredibly out of the ordinary, but it is interesting with the trade deadline nearing.

While players like Tyrese Haliburton, Buddy Hield, or Harrison Barnes could all be enticing targets for the Bucks, they are all completely unrealistic. If the Bucks were scouting the Kings, it was likely to get a close look at one of their many big men. Richaun Holmes, Marvin Bagley III, Damian Jones, Chimezie Metu, Tristan Thompson, and Alex Len could all be possible targets for the Bucks as they look to shore up their depth in the frontcourt.

Among the bunch, Holmes would be the best target. He is an energetic center that could prove a much-needed boost of scoring and rebounding off the bench. Though a trade is doable, Holmes’ hefty salary and Milwaukee’s lack of assets make it tough to envision a deal happening, but that should not stop the Bucks from trying. Bagley and Thompson both make quite a bit of money, but perhaps they could be obtainable if general manager Jon Horst pulled some strings. Jones, Len, and Metu would be easier targets to envision due to their salaries.

If the Bucks are indeed looking for center help before the deadline, the Kings are a team that has some potentially compelling pieces. Time will tell if Milwaukee’s attendance at Sacramento’s game last month results in anything over the next few days.
