Jrue Holiday and Bobby Portis each stepped up with double-doubles for the Milwaukee Bucks

Sticking with players that stepped up for the Bucks, both Jrue Holiday and Bobby Portis had some outstanding performances for Milwaukee against Los Angeles.

Scoring 27 points on 68.8 percent shooting from the floor, 40 percent from 3-point range, and 75 percent from the free throw line, it was an all-around efficient night for Holiday. The veteran guard was in attack mode all night long with the basketball, attacking his defenders by plowing his way to the rim or switching it up by hitting a few of his patented step-back jumpers to keep LA on their toes. When Holiday enters a zone like he did last night, he is virtually unstoppable offensively.

In addition to his scoring, the guard made a massive difference by handing out 13 assists to make sure he got his teammates involved. Tallying just two turnovers in the process, it was yet another great display of his facilitating prowess. Of course, this all goes without mentioning the impact he had defensively, doing his part to keep LA’s Reggie Jackson in check as he scored just 10 points on 3-of-12 overall shooting. Holiday also tallied two steals and a block to cement his great night. There are genuinely few players at the position better in the business than Holiday.

Holiday got some help from Portis, who added 24 points and 11 rebounds to the stat sheet in an impressive outing. After a 30-point game against Portland the night before, Portis carried that momentum over into last night’s meeting by shooting a red-hot 8-of-12 from the floor, including 4-of-5 from 3-point range. Portis once again had the hot hand, and he is bound to break his old career-high six 3-point makes in a single game at some point this season, it is merely a matter of time. Along with a phenomenal shooting night, Portis haul in 11 rebounds to tally yet another double-double and help pave the way to a victory.

Given the performances from these two, it is easy to see why they were each listed with a +/- of +28 in this one, the highest on the team.
