Milwaukee Bucks’ buyout target No. 4 – Robin Lopez
Going back to the center position, the Bucks could temporarily solve their issues by targeting a familiar face in Robin Lopez, Brook’s twin brother. Of course, Robin played in Milwaukee during the 2019-20 campaign in a backup role behind his brother, and bringing him back would be more than a fun story as the Bucks aim to add some size.
Lopez is currently serving as a veteran presence for the youthful Orlando Magic and is having a solid year by averaging 8.2 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game. His numbers are far from the gaudiest, but Lopez could come in and simply give the Bucks a 7-foot, 281lb center to utilize and give the team some much-needed size. He would help with their rebounding while serving as an obstacle for opponents trying to score down low.
Just like Ibaka, someone like Lopez is not a needle-tipping addition for Milwaukee, but he could be a passable contributor as they await good news on Brook. Due to his previous connections to the franchise and obviously the relation to Brook, Robin has seemingly become the fan-favorite target for the Bucks to make a run at if he is indeed bought out of his contract. Not only would it be great to see the pre-game wrestling routine make a return to Fiserv Forum, but it would also finally give Milwaukee the backup big that they truly need right now.
