The Milwaukee Bucks are nearing the home stretch of their season.
This season has been an interesting one for the Bucks so far with a lot of ups and downs. With a season of ups and downs comes storylines, and there will be some important ones to keep an eye on as the season begins to wrap up.
No. 1 – The Milwaukee Bucks looking to defend their title down the stretch
This season has been different from the other recent seasons for the Milwaukee Bucks. For the first time in 50 years, the Bucks are the reigning NBA Champions. With that, comes a target on your back from the other 29 NBA teams.
The Bucks have been somewhat successful in navigating through their title defense season so far, as they currently sit as the fourth seed in the Eastern Conference. That’s not a bad spot to be in with 19 games left to play, but the Bucks will certainly look to improve that position in the games coming up before the postseason.
The Bucks will have plenty of opportunities to get into postseason form with their remaining schedule being a gauntlet. Of their 18 remaining games, 12 of them will be against teams with winning records.
The strength of schedule remaining will make it a lot easier for the Bucks to know where they stand heading into the playoffs since they’ll be playing against the best competition. Having such a tough remaining schedule could be a blessing in disguise as they’ll be ramping up for postseason play against the teams that they’ll likely be matched up against later. If the Bucks are able to use these final 18 games as a stepping stone for the postseason, they will be in very good shape when the time comes.
The biggest advantage that the team will have in the postseason is that they’ve been there before after last season’s championship run. Stay tuned to see if the team can get hot in final regular season games and hopefully have some sort of momentum to make another deep playoff push.
