What a difference a little over a week does for the perception of a team, huh? Coming off of losses on either side of the All-Star break, the Milwaukee Bucks were being looked at as a team that couldn’t repeat or just didn’t have it this season.

They’ve since ripped off five straight wins coming in different ways and now take on the Atlanta Hawks for the final time this season, vying for their sixth-straight win. It will be the first time the Hawks have visited Fiserv Forum since the Eastern Conference Finals.

Atlanta has won both matchups so far this season and Milwaukee didn’t look particularly great in either game. It won’t get easier for the Bucks on the second night of a back-to-back, but they’re still the better team and should win this game. Though I’ve said that plenty of times this season.

The Milwaukee Bucks need to keep Trae Young contained as much as possible

If there’s been one player that has been a massive thorn in the side of the Bucks this season, it is Trae Young. He’s been the absolute best player in both games they’ve played and if they want to win this one, he can’t have another huge game.

Young is averaging 36 points on 72 percent true shooting as well as six rebounds, and 10.5 assists in nearly 36 minutes in both games. He hit eight 3s in their first game but was limited to two in the second game. Oh, but he got to the line 14 times in that one and hit each free throw.

Almost more problematic than the points is that he dished out 21 assists in those games. When he’s able to lead the dance and get whatever he wants as a scorer and a passer, it turns into a long night.

The Bucks have added some better guard defenders since these teams last met, so perhaps being able to throw more than just Jrue Holiday (who missed the second game) at Young will make his life harder.

You’re not going to completely wipe out Young, he’s far too good of an offensive player for that, but if you can limit either his scoring or playmaking a little bit, then it’s certainly a good start to beating the Hawks.
