Sacramento Kings: Donte DiVincenzo

How do you top a win over a team that you haven’t beaten in their building in over 20 years? It’s almost like an emotional letdown as a fan because, well, what else is left for the Milwaukee Bucks to do?

I mean, I guess winning another championship would be neat. So the road to repeating continues and tonight it goes through Golden 1 Center and the Sacramento Kings!

This is the second and final meeting between the Bucks and Kings. Milwaukee won the first one back in late January by six points, a game they should have won by more if we’re being honest with ourselves.

Hey, it’s Donte DiVincenzo’s first game against the Milwaukee Bucks!

After all kinds of speculation following the Bucks adding Grayson Allen in the offseason, Donte DiVincenzo was eventually traded at the deadline as part of a three-team deal that brought back Serge Ibaka.

DiVincenzo has played 13 games since the deal and has been pretty solid for the Kings!

He’s averaging 8.5 points, 4.2 rebounds, 3.2 assists, and 1.3 steals in over 24 minutes a night. He’s shooting nearly 35 percent from 3 on over five attempts, which is much better than his 28.4 percent in 17 games with the Bucks.

It’s not all good news for DiVincenzo, though. He continues to struggle inside the arc and it seems to have gotten worse since leaving. He’s shooting under 33 percent on 31 2-point attempts, over eight percent worse than he did with the Bucks this season.

It would sure be funny in a twisted sort of way if DiVincenzo does something silly like going 8-of-8 inside the arc and finishes some wild layups. But otherwise, I’m interested to see how the Kings use him tonight and how he’ll look against former teammates Jrue Holiday and Khris Middleton.
