When a team is bad they tend to pick higher in the draft and when a team is good, they tend to pick lower in the draft. That’s pretty simple and it’s the way all four of the major North American pro sports leagues handle things. The Milwaukee Bucks are good, so they’re picking 24th overall this year.

It’s hard to get a superstar or even a really good starter at this point in the draft since, well, all the good players go at the top of the draft. Crazy, right? But some pretty notable names have come at this point in the draft, which should excite you!

Whether you’re team “use the pick” or team “trade the pick,” the lead-up to the NBA Draft will be very interesting for the Bucks. If they decide to keep the 24th overall selection, here are the five best players that have been taken at 24, and hopefully the Bucks’ selection can top them all!

Best players drafted 24th overall: Honorable mentions!

I’ll be damned if I don’t get to mention some of the fun names who have been selected 24th overall that didn’t make the top five. Guys like Serge Ibaka (former Buck!), Latrell Sprewell (four-time All-Star, one-time All-NBA), Derek Fisher (five-time champ, current Los Angeles Sparks coach), Rick Fox (Canadian!), Tim Hardaway, as well as Reggie Jackson among others have been taken with that 24th overall selection.

Sure, these guys might not be stars but they’re solid role players that were even really good starters at a certain point in their careers. You’d definitely be stoked to have these guys in their prime on the Bucks, let’s be honest. Anyway, onto the top five!
