The Milwaukee Bucks should leave no stone unturned in their quest to improve this offseason, which may entail entertaining some interesting trade targets.

One such player is Derrick Rose, the former MVP who has found new life over the past few years in a bench role. The Bucks had expressed interest in Rose somewhat recently, as they reportedly made a run at the guard in 2021 before he was traded to the New York Knicks, per Yahoo! Sports’ Vincent Goodwell. With a bit of uncertainty surrounding Milwaukee’s backup point guard position, perhaps they could look to reignite their interest in the veteran floor general if New York is willing to entertain offers. If so, Sam DiGiovanni of Clutch Points recently proposed a trade that would see the Milwaukee Bucks acquire Rose to shore up their point guard depth.

Given that Rose is set to make $14.5 million next season, his salary is far from the most digestible for a Milwaukee Bucks team that is low on financial flexibility. However, in this package, they could make it work by sending out the combined salaries of Grayson Allen ($8.5 million) and George Hill ($4 million) to match. In DiGiovanni’s proposal, the two teams would also swap first round picks, with the Bucks surrendering this year’s while acquiring one from New York for next season that belongs to the Dallas Mavericks. This deal is undoubtedly an interesting one to consider for both parties involved, and here is a breakdown of each team’s point of view and a final verdict on how the proposal could go over for both franchises in the end.
