The Milwaukee Bucks hold the 24th pick in the upcoming NBA draft, and there are several directions they could go. They have a few needs they could address with the pick, they might trade back into the second round, or they could trade away the pick completely. Only time will tell what actually happens, but one player they may be considering drafting is MarJon Beauchamp. Here is a look at some of his strengths and weaknesses, and how I think he would fit with the Bucks.

Milwaukee Bucks Draft Scouting Report: MarJon Beauchamp – Strengths

Athleticism

MarJon Beauchamp is a very athletic wing who is particularly good in transition. He is a great leaper and finisher on the break with a 7’1″ wingspan, and he definitely has the explosiveness for the next level. His athleticism and quick first step helps him when attacking the rim and finishing, and he is good going downhill. Beauchamp has the pop to become a really good NBA player.

Intelligence

Beauchamp is a high IQ player on both ends of the court. On offense, he mainly played off-ball with the Ignite and has learned how to use screens and handoffs to generate offense, and he has also developed a great sense of when to cut to the rim. Defensively, he plays hard and is a smart and aware off-ball defender. He seems to always have a good sense of what is going on, and is the type of player that contributes to winning basketball.

Defense

With his combination of athleticism and length, Beauchamp should be a very good wing defender. As just mentioned, he is smart off the ball, but he also excels as an on-ball defender as well. He swarms ball handlers with his great lateral quickness and incredible wingspan, and he can also defend the post well and handle physicality. Add in his tremendous effort and solid rebounding, and he has all the signs of being an impactful defender in the NBA.
