Milwaukee Bucks Draft Scouting Report: Blake Wesley – Outlook

Blake Wesley is someone the Bucks definitely may consider taking with the 24th pick if he is available. He has the scoring and shot creation upside that the Bucks might be looking for in a young player, and he looks to be a very good defender as well who can switch and guard multiple positions. There are plenty of things to like, and if he reaches his potential this could be the steal of the draft.

The issue is that very little about Wesley is proven right now, especially offensively. The Bucks may not want to take such a risk on someone who had such poor shooting percentages and is still a work in progress offensively. He will need time to iron some things out and to gain some strength, and the Bucks simply might want someone safer who they know will be able to help out immediately and play a role.

I wouldn’t hate this pick for the Bucks, because Wesley does check some of the boxes and potentially could check almost all of them for the Bucks if his offensive game is legit. However, the risk attached and the inconsistent shooting ability definitely makes me prefer other options for the Bucks with the 24th pick.

Grade for Milwaukee Bucks: B-

Stay tuned to see where Wesley falls on draft night.
