3 Milwaukee Bucks’ free agent targets with ties to Jrue Holiday

Lou Williams could be a free agent target for the Milwaukee Bucks
Following their title-winning campaign last year, the Milwaukee Bucks were reportedly looking to bulk up their bench with Lou Williams. As first reported by HoopsHype’s Michael Scotto, the Bucks were among the handful of teams expected to show interest in the veteran before he returned to the Atlanta Hawks. Though Williams is coming off a down year, the Bucks would be wise to take a flyer on him as he could patch some of the team’s significant flaws. Perhaps Jrue Holiday, a former teammate of Williams’ with the Philadelphia 76ers, could do some spirited recruiting.
As highlighted previously, Milwaukee needs to address their lack of bench scoring this offseason, and adding a three-time Sixth Man of the Year could certainly help. At 35-years-old, Williams may not be the 20-point-per-game scorer that he once was, but the guard could still provide a spark on the offensive end off the bench nightly. Despite his limitations on the defensive end, adding a pure scorer like Williams would give them a quality upgrade over Hill at the backup point guard position. Bringing in Williams would bolster Milwaukee’s bench scoring while simultaneously strengthening their backcourt depth, killing two birds with one stone.
Considering that Williams is coming off his least productive season since the 2006-07 campaign, he likely will not have a hefty asking price in NBA free agency. If the Bucks could possibly lure him in with a minimum and a prominent role off the bench, perhaps that could be enticing for Williams as he ponders his next steps in the association.
Stay tuned to see if the Milwaukee Bucks pursue any of these players in NBA free agency.
