Milwaukee Bucks: 3 low-risk, high-reward free agents to pursue

1. Joe Ingles

Initially, veteran forward Joe Ingles could be a low-risk, high-reward free agent for the Milwaukee Bucks to target this summer. Ingles is coming off a torn ACL this past season so there’s no guarantee that the unrestricted free agent can return to his best form, but the Bucks should be willing to take the chance given his skill set and potential fit with the team.

The 34-year-old has shot 40.8 percent from 3-point territory across his career while holding his own on the defensive end as an intelligent, lengthy, and highly competitive asset. Ingles would benefit the Bucks with his ability to space the floor, initiate the pick and roll, and facilitate offensively. On the other side of the ball, he’d serve as another switchable defender with high IQ and effective communication.

He’s an experienced leader and an excellent locker room presence that the Bucks would value. Since Ingles is coming off a serious injury and would likely favor joining a title-contending team as he enters the later stages of his career, the Australian wing could be open to a veteran minimum contract or something close to that with Milwaukee.

Joe Ingles would be a low-cost option in free agency with the opportunity to make a significant impact for the Milwaukee Bucks as they chase another title. His knee injury shouldn’t be a concern by at least the playoffs next season and given his complementary abilities and ideal fit with the organization, he’d be well worth a low-risk contract for a year or two.
