3 intriguing Milwaukee Bucks’ trade targets with ties to Brook Lopez

Jordan Clarkson could be a trade target for the Milwaukee Bucks
Before being traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers at the deadline, Jordan Clarkson spent the first part of the 2017-18 season alongside Brook Lopez in LA. Since then, Clarkson has rapidly transformed into a special player, having found extreme success as a member of the Utah Jazz over the last two and a half seasons. Now, with rumors currently swirling that the Jazz could look to shake things up after they were eliminated in the first round of the playoffs, the Milwaukee Bucks should keep an eye on Clarkson’s availability this offseason.
Two issues that the Bucks need to address this offseason are their lack of bench scoring and their backup point guard position. Trading for Clarkson, who is one of the most dynamic scoring backup point guards in the association, could kill two birds with one stone. During his time with the Jazz, Clarkson has played the best basketball of his career by averaging 16.8 points per contest, which helped him take home the 2020-21 Sixth Man of the Year award. A player like that would be a big addition to this Milwaukee bench, giving them a lethal scoring threat and a significant upgrade over what they have right now in George Hill. The guard may have his troubles on the defensive side of the ball, but it would be worth risking to add that reputable scoring punch.
Clarkson is set to be on the books for $13.4 million next season, which is a somewhat reasonable salary for a player that is productive as he is. Of course, it remains to be seen whether the Jazz will entertain a trade for the point guard, but teams will be monitoring the situation depending on which direction they decide to take this offseason. The Bucks would not be able to offer the most desirable package to acquire him, but that should not stop them from kicking the tires on Clarkson.
Stay tuned to see if the Milwaukee Bucks make a run at any of these trade targets with ties to Brook Lopez this coming offseason.
