On a special Thursday night across the league, the Milwaukee Bucks selected G League Ignite wing MarJon Beauchamp with the 24th overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft.

With tears falling down his eyes after hearing his name called by NBA commissioner Adam Silver, an emotional Beauchamp realized he had turned a dream into reality and would be joining the Bucks to kickstart his NBA career. It will be the first time that Milwaukee maintains its first-round selection since drafting Donte DiVincenzo with the 17th overall pick in 2018.

After the Milwaukee Bucks selected MarJon Beauchamp with the 24th pick in the 2022 NBA Draft, we break down why the versatile wing will be an ideal fit.

According to general manager Jon Horst, the Bucks were very high on Beauchamp and even attempted to trade up for the 21-year-old prospect before eventually falling right into their lap at No. 24. Beauchamp reportedly worked out for the Bucks twice during the pre-draft process and had dinner with head coach Mike Budenholzer.

Milwaukee clearly got their guy on draft night and the organization appears to be beyond excited to welcome the young stud to this title-contending squad. While the Bucks are betting on Beauchamp’s skill set on the court, they’re betting on him as a person as well.

MarJon has been through a boatload of adversity throughout his path to the league. From battling homelessness to four high schools, JUCO, and the G League, the Yakima native fought his way to get where he’s at today with perseverance, courage, and resiliency. He’s a fighter that always seems to have a chip on his shoulder.

The Milwaukee Bucks drafted themselves a fascinating talent and human being that should make a key impact for the franchise on and off the court. Let’s break down three reasons why MarJon Beauchamp will blossom with the Bucks for years to come.
