3 under-the-radar free agents to pursue for Milwaukee Bucks – 3. Jared Harper
Jared Harper hasn’t been able to receive much NBA experience heading into his fourth year as a pro, but the point guard out of Auburn could be a heavy under-the-radar option for the Milwaukee Bucks during free agency after an incredible year in the G League.
For the New Orleans Pelicans’ G League affiliate, Harper averaged 21.2 points, 7.2 assists, and 1.2 steals per game while shooting 41.1 percent from beyond the arc through 23 games last season. He’s produced more than 20 points and five assists per game across all three seasons in the G League and was named to the 2021 All-NBA G League First Team.
Harper could make an impact in the league as an efficient shooter and playmaker both on and off the ball. The Bucks need more support with playmaking and shot making, so the 25-year-old guard could become a low-cost, high-reward type of option that could fill in as depth for the team while continuing to grow in a winning environment.
It’s a long shot but keep an eye on Jared Harper as his consistent and efficient contributions on both sides of the ball in the G League hasn’t gone unnoticed. He’s truly flying under the radar and if the Milwaukee Bucks are looking for an ideal fit that’s still somewhat young with much room for growth to fill out the bench, Harper could be their guy.
Stay tuned to see how Milwaukee attacks free agency.
