Takeaways from the Milwaukee Bucks’ Summer League win over the Timberwolves: Lindell Wigginton is earning his keep
Lindell Wigginton has arguably been the Bucks’ best and most important player during the summer league through three games. While his size (or lack thereof) will probably limit his ceiling as an NBA player, he has still put on quite a show in Vegas so far this summer. His performance yesterday showcased his scoring abilities, going 4-6 from 3 on mostly contested shots, an especially impressive feat considering his height.
Not only was Wigginton affective as a play finisher, he was also affective as a play initiator, racking up 6 assists and 0 (!!!!) turnovers, a big plus for him considering his high turnover numbers in the first two games. An underrated skill for role players in the modern NBA is their ability to keep the ball moving and find open guys, and Wigginton was certainly demonstrating his capacity to do just that. This is a skill especially important to Bud, and it should add to the case Wigginton is making to stick around this season.
Stay tuned for analysis on the final Milwaukee Bucks summer league game Thursday night.
