Milwaukee Bucks lineups to be excited about in 2022-2023: Starter Joe Ingles??

As time has passed since the acquisition was announced, I have become more and more intrigued with the idea of Joe Ingles on this team. Obviously, injuries like his (as well as his age) make it so we won’t know what he can do until he’s back on the court. Nonetheless, there was not a single player available at his price tag that holds the kind of upside he has. He wasn’t just a role player for the team with the best record in the league Utah Jazz, he was one of their most important players.

The Bucks were able to steal away someone who was just a key contributor to one of the best teams in the league and they signed him using one of their exceptions.

That kind of thing does not happen frequently, and it is worth being excited about. If he returns to form, he walks in as one of the Bucks’ best passers and likely their best shooter, all the while offering the Bucks another option to defend wings on the other end. With the Grayson Allen experiment working in the regular season but not so much after the first round of the playoffs (although I still have hope), there is a potential hole in the Bucks starting lineup.

A Jrue-Joe Ingles-Khris-Giannis-Brook starting five holds the potential to be an absolute juggernaut. The combination of size, scoring, shooting, and defense would be absolutely beautiful to watch. Sure, there may be a couple reasons also why this lineup wouldn’t work, but it would still be fun to watch the Bucks overwhelm teams with that level of size and talent. If no one else on the roster has seized that fifth starting spot by the time Joe Ingles returns from injury, there is a real chance we get to see starter Joe Ingles come playoff time.

Joe Ingles also comes with the ability to operate as the Bucks sixth man in one of the other two potential lineups presented, no matter what, the Bucks will have opportunities to flex versatility this coming season.
