The verdict on the Milwaukee Bucks trading for Kevin Durant

While it would be thrilling to watch Giannis Antetokounmpo and Kevin Durant share the court on a nightly basis as teammates with the Milwaukee Bucks, it seems unlikely right now.

Given Brooklyn’s rumored demands to other teams involved in Durant talks, it would be difficult to envision Milwaukee being a legitimate suitor. With Antetokounmpo undoubtedly off the table, the Nets would likely start discussions with Jrue Holiday, Khris Middleton, MarJon Beauchamp, and a collection of draft picks. It is no secret that the Bucks are incredibly low on draft picks right now, as they have not been shy about dealing them over the past few years. They are also not too keen on trading away such core pieces, in all likelihood, especially Holiday and Middleton, who helped this team win their first title in 50 years just over a year ago.

All in all, the Bucks will likely stand pat as the Durant saga continues to unfold. No team appears to be close to acquiring the two-time Finals MVP at this point, and things could potentially carry over into the regular season. It will be interesting to see if the Bucks surface in these rumors once again down the line or if this was a one and done instance. Whatever the case, Monday’s reports certainly gave Bucks fans something to debate, as there are pros and cons in any Durant trade.
