MarJon Beauchamp was much more aggressive for the Milwaukee Bucks in his fourth preseason game

Many Bucks fans have been intrigued to see the performance of MarJon Beauchamp this preseason. To say it how it is, Beauchamp looks like a rookie.

One thing that was pleasing about Tuesday’s loss to Chicago is that we saw Beauchamp be more aggressive than he was in his first three preseason games. Beauchamp was aggressive in trying to get himself looks, even if the efficiency didn’t follow. The young wing finished the game with 14 points on 6-16 shooting and 1-7 from beyond the arc.

While the efficiency isn’t what you’d like to see, you have to be happy to see a young player look to be aggressive. The rookie mistakes will be there for Beauchamp because it’s just a part of being a young player in the NBA, but if he’s giving the effort he showed tonight, that’s all you can ask for.

You’ll often see young players get discouraged when things aren’t going their way. That isn’t what we saw from Beauchamp on Tuesday, as even though he had some wild plays, he was assertive in getting his opportunities.

It’s important not to worry about the results for Beauchamp at this stage of his career. It would never be fair to expect him to play like anything other than a rookie. The mistakes you see this preseason and throughout his rookie year will only help him down the road. Hopefully, he will continue to be aggressive and help himself learn.
