3 Takeaways from Milwaukee Bucks’ thrilling win over Nets

The Milwaukee Bucks need more from Grayson Allen as the season moves forward
Grayson Allen has been the team’s biggest dud so far this season. While it hasn’t come back to bite the team so far, Allen will undoubtedly need to produce at a higher level for the Bucks to achieve their ultimate goal of winning a championship.
Allen has not shot better than 30 percent from the field in any of the team’s three games this season and currently has a season percentage of 24.1 percent. His outside shooting has not been much better, shooting 26.3 percent from three.
The reasons for Allen needing to step up are apparent. The Bucks are structured around being able to hit outside shots when Antetokounmpo doesn’t have a good look inside. Not being able to make those shots has cost the team in the past, as every playoff exit in the last few years has come primarily due to the players around Antetokounmpo not being able to make their outside shots.
It’s only three games, so there’s no reason to go into panic mode over Allen’s struggles. When the season is at this stage, all it takes is one lights-out shooting performance to change the narrative. Hopefully, Friday’s game against the Knicks is that game for Allen.
I have complete confidence in Allen turning it around and being the player he was last season. He got off to a slow start on open looks a year ago and ended up shooting 40.9 percent from three on the season, so it may take him a few reps to get going.
The Bucks look to remain undefeated on Friday night against the Knicks. Stay tuned for updates on the team as the season progresses.
