Takeaways from Milwaukee Bucks win vs Knicks: Giannis Antetokounmpo has not skipped a beat on either end of the floor
Giannis Antetokounmpo ended Friday night’s game with 30 points, 14 rebounds and nine assists, in addition he added a steal and a block and just two turnovers. Giannis made 11-of-22 field goals, 10-of-16 inside the 3-point line, 1-of-6 behind it and 7-of-11 at the free throw line.
The Greek Freak continues to make jaws drop every time he steps out on the hardwood. He now has registered 117 total points over his last three games, which marks a career high for any three game stretch Giannis has had in his career. The tenacity on the offensive end opens up so many avenues for the Bucks to succeed. Most of the time Giannis scores despite the defense throwing three guys in his vicinity but Giannis’ ongoing progression of his playmaking ability showed Friday night with nine assists, leaving him one assist shy of a triple double.
New York would funnel towards Giannis, usually with up to three defenders, and that left several guys open on the perimeter. Considering there is no way to stop Giannis, I see a lot of teams trying some kind of concept of that defense this season. That is why the 3-point shooting needs to improve, looks from distance will be coming in abundance night in and night out. On the defensive end, Giannis, Jrue and Brook have led the way. Antetokounmpo has seven steals and eight blocks on the year and has been a force as a help defender and in transition. Giannis is looking for his second defensive player of the year award and he has made a solid start to the campaign. The only person standing in his way is Brook Lopez!
All in all, Giannis once again led the way with stellar play on both ends on route to another Bucks win!
