10 Milwaukee Bucks games have come and gone and had you asked me before the season what the Bucks record would be after 10 games without Khris Middleton and Pat Connaughton, having to play the 76ers in Philadelphia, the Nets and the Hawks twice, I would’ve felt good coming out of those 10 games 7-3. Well, our Milwaukee Bucks are 9-1 and only lost their first game just last night. Let’s look at some studs and duds from the beginning of this young season.
Milwaukee Bucks studs and duds from the first 10 games: Stud: Giannis Antetokounmpo
Let’s get the obvious one out of the way, Giannis Antetokounmpo is a stud. He is an absolute monster, on both ends of the floor, the best two-way player in the NBA and in many other’s opinions, the best player in the NBA. He was voted in a preseason survey done by ESPN as the best player in the league, he was praised by Demar DeRozan and now he’s showing off that he has continued growing and has a renewed hunger to be the best.
Through nine games (Giannis sat out Saturday night with knee soreness) Giannis is averaging 31.8 points, thanks in part to six straight 30+ point games which tied a career high for him. Giannis is averaging 12.2 rebounds, his highest since 2019-20, 5.3 assists, 1.4 blocks and 1.1 steals, all in less than 33 minutes per game!
Giannis is also quickly rising up several all-time Milwaukee Bucks leaderboards. Giannis passed Sidney Moncrief for most made free throws in franchise history, he passed Bob Dandridge for second most made 2-point field goals, trailing obviously Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. Giannis is also hot on the heels of more franchise records, he needs just four assists to pass Paul Pressey for the Milwaukee Bucks all-time lead and is just five steals behind Khris Middleton for fourth all time in that category, once Middleton is healthy that could be a fun category to watch them go back and forth in.
We are truly fortunate to have the best superstar we could have ever asked for, Giannis is amazing on and off the court and he will be a staple of the stud portion of these evaluations.
