MarJon Beauchamp needs a spot in the Milwaukee Bucks’ rotation

Marjon Beauchamp has been solid for the Milwaukee Bucks when called upon this season.

Last night, he had 10 points and four rebounds on 4-of-6 shooting in 22 minutes played. He was able to hit a couple off the dribble threes and had a mean dunk in the first half. There are still a few hiccups on the defensive end for the rookie, but by no means is he a bad defender; he actually has the tools to become a very good one. The combination of length and athleticism paired with the 3-point shooting of Beauchamp is something that can legitimately help the Bucks.

Even at full strength, Coach Mike Budenholzer should make room for Beauchamp to receive some time. As far as wings go, Joe Ingles and Pat Connaughton will end up playing more time than him, but Beauchamp can still offer time at two or three. In the limited and quite sporadic minutes he has received this year, Beauchamp has shown real flashes of being a solid NBA player. I would like to see Budenholzer fit Beauchamp into the rotation, and of course, take what you see into the playoffs and see if he is ready to help us when that time comes.

Beauchamp makes his mistakes, but that is expected from a rookie. He has played well during this stretch of bad health for the Bucks, and he is building a real chance at seeing some meaningful time in the future.
