The Charlotte Hornets caught fire offensively, especially from 3-point land, and it doomed the Milwaukee Bucks

After Jrue Holiday and Grayson Allen knocked down back-to-back 3-pointers to start the contest and put the Milwaukee Bucks up 6-3, it was all downhill from there.

Terry Rozier and Mason Plumlee were two key factors in the Charlotte Hornets tying the record for most points in the first quarter ever. Rozier shot a scorching hot 7-of-11 from the floor in the first as the Bucks had no answer for him. He continued to torch the Bucks throughout and finished with a whopping 39 points. Meanwhile, Plumlee put up quite a line in the opening quarter with six points on 3-of-3 shooting, nine rebounds, and four assists. The Bucks consistently failed to keep Plumlee away from the rim as he got offensive rebounds and put second-chance points on the board to give the Hornets some momentum.

As the game went on, it seemed like the Hornets could not miss offensively, especially from three. They shot 20-of-48 (41.7 percent) from three, with LaMelo Ball knocking down seven, Terry Rozier hitting six, and P.J. Washington hitting five. Those three did a significant amount of the damage for the Hornets. Meanwhile, the Bucks also shot 20-of-48 from three, but the disparity in total shot attempts was alarming. Milwaukee shot 37-of-84 (44 percent) for the game while Charlotte went 53-of-102 (52 percent) for the matchup. The massive difference in attempts was largely because the Bucks turned the ball over 16 times to just five by the Hornets, and the latter took advantage.

Milwaukee’s defense simply was not able to withstand Charlotte’s onslaught from start to finish.
