Giannis Antetokounmpo cooled off drastically in the Milwaukee Bucks’ loss to the Charlotte Hornets following a historic stretch

After putting on one of the most historic stretches of dominant basketball the NBA has ever seen, Giannis Antetokounmpo made a minimal impact for the Milwaukee Bucks last night.

The Greek Freak tallied a mere nine points, which was a season-low. He shot just 2-for-7 from the floor and 5-of-11 from the line while tallying four rebounds, zero assists, and three turnovers. The big man looked discombobulated from the tip, having missed all three of his field goal attempts in the opening quarter while the Hornets hung 51 on the scoreboard.

For whatever reason, Antetokounmpo just could not get it going in any fashion last night, and it spelled trouble for the Bucks, who looked like a legitimate shell of themselves. Antetokounmpo did tally a season-low 22 minutes, but still, his overall line from last night was shockingly below par. It was just one of those dreadful nights for Antetokounmpo and the Bucks.

At the end of the day, hopefully this is a contest Antetokounmpo can find some motivation in and use it to fuel him moving forward. Following his and the team’s slow start to the game, it will be a fascinating thing to see whether he can come out in Milwaukee’s next game and help set the tone. Given his mentality and what the Hornets just did to the Bucks, it would not be surprising to watch Antetokounmpo immediately come out with some extra intensity next game.
