Lottery picks that Milwaukee Bucks rookie MarJon Beauchamp is currently outplaying: #11 Ousmane Dieng

Ousmane Dieng is a member of the Oklahoma City Thunder who is currently out with a wrist fracture. However, he was the #11 pick and in his limited time has still been outperformed by the Bucks’ 24th pick.  Dieng’s efficiency is lesser than Beauchamp’s as well. Comparing the same averages between Dieng and Beauchamp as Beauchamp to Davis, Ousmane Dieng is averaging 4.4 points, 2.9 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game. not a far cry from Marjon’s while playing a very slightly larger amount of minutes.

However, a differentiator between Dieng and Beauchamp is efficiency, Dieng does have an advantage on field goals, 42.4 percent compared to 41.6 for Beauchamp. Other than that, Beauchamp is a better 3-point shooter by five percent, 34.4 to 29.4, and a better free throw shooter; Beauchamp is shooting 72.0 percent at the free throw line and Dieng is at just 25.0 percent. Beauchamp has also outperformed Ousmane Dieng.

The Milwaukee Bucks and Oklahoma City Thunder have played each other twice this season and have no more matchups head to head. In the first of those two games Ousmane Dieng played 22 minutes and shot 3-of-4 from the field, Dieng scored eight points, had five assists and four rebounds. The Milwaukee Bucks won 108-94, MarJon Beauchamp started this game and had one of his roughest games of the season, shooting 1-for-9, MarJon finished with two points, five rebounds and a steal.

The second Bucks vs. Thunder matchup just a few days later would have helped Beauchamp’s head-to-head comparison but Ousmane Dieng was out for the Bucks’ double-overtime victory. Beauchamp started again and shot much better, shooting 7-of-13 from the field including 5-of-8 behind the 3-point line. Beauchamp finished with 19 points, eight rebounds and two steals, one of the best games of his young career.
