New York Knicks: Cam Reddish

In their pursuit to add more talent ahead of the trade deadline, the Milwaukee Bucks have been linked to Cam Reddish of the New York Knicks.

Milwaukee’s interest first surfaced when SNY’s Ian Begley reported in December that the team had checked in on the forward’s availability. Reddish has been out of New York’s rotation for the last several weeks, and he is bound to be moved somewhere before the deadline. The Bucks make some sense as a landing spot for the 23-year-old, but the biggest question is what a trade would look like. Reddish’s $5.9 million salary is reasonable for the Bucks in a move, but there are various scenarios they could explore to absorb it. With that said, let us look at three possible packages.

The first Cam Reddish trade package between the Bucks and Knicks

Given that Reddish has not been a significant contributor for the Knicks this season, New York is reportedly not looking for a sizeable haul for him. According to HoopsHype’s Michael Scotto, the Bucks have kicked the tires on trading a 2023 second round pick and salary filler in exchange for Reddish. The combined salaries of George Hill ($4 million) and Serge Ibaka ($2.9 million) would be enough to match Reddish’s deal and bring him to Milwaukee.

Hill and Ibaka are two likely trade candidates for the Bucks before the deadline. Hill has not been featured heavily in Milwaukee’s rotation this season, and his salary would be valuable in a trade. As for Ibaka, including him in this deal would allow the team to kill two birds with one stone by adding a rotational player while granting Ibaka his wish to be traded after he and the front office agreed to find the veteran a new home before the trade deadline recently.

If the Bucks could acquire Reddish for a second rounder and two players who are out of the mix in Mike Budenholzer’s rotation, that would be a reasonable deal.
