For the second time in his NBA career and his first time with the Bucks, Jrue Holiday was named an NBA All-Star Reserve.

Holiday has been having a tremendous season thus far, having averaged 19.4 points, 7.2 assists, 5.3 rebounds, and 1.4 steals per game. Aside from the steals average, all of those numbers are the best Holiday has posted as a member of the Bucks. With Khris Middleton missing most of the year due to injuries, Holiday has had to shoulder more of the load, and he has embraced the challenge. The guard has deservingly been recognized for his efforts by earning the prestigious All-Star nod, and he can add another accomplishment to his glowing resume.

For years now, Jrue Holiday has been widely considered the NBA’s most underrated player. After making the All-Star team with the Philadelphia 76ers in 2013, Holiday has put together a decade’s worth of outstanding basketball with the New Orleans Pelicans and Milwaukee Bucks. Every year, there was a chance that Holiday could have been named an All-Star, but he missed the cut time and time again, until now. It will be great to see Holiday back in the All-Star Game for the first time since 2013. According to ESPN Stats & Info, the nine years Holiday went between All-Star nods was the longest gap in league history. With the season he is having, he certainly deserves it.

Of course, Holiday will not be the lone Buck in the All-Star Game, as he will be joined by none other than Giannis Antetokounmpo, the Eastern Conference captain. It is no secret that the Greek Freak will do whatever it takes to get Holiday on his team before LeBron James, the Western Conference captain, can get him. It will be interesting, and extremely entertaining, to see just how the forward goes about getting Holiday on his team, whether that means selecting him straight away or even making a rare trade. Either way, it will be awesome to see the pair on the court in this game as the Bucks will have two players in the All-Star Game for the fourth time in five seasons.
