Giannis Antetokounmpo has been arguably having the best season of his entire NBA career, and he certainly strengthened that notion in the Milwaukee Bucks’ most recent matchup.

With the surging LA Clippers in Milwaukee for a late-night nationally televised matchup, the Bucks would be put to the test. Things started off sluggish for the Bucks, who found themselves trailing by 15 points early on. While they did come back and regain the lead in the second quarter, LA fired back and took the lead. About midway through the third quarter, the Bucks trailed by 21 points, as it looked like this game was finished. However, Giannis Antetokounmpo had other plans.

How Giannis Antetokounmpo led an incredible comeback vs. LA Clippers

After a poor 1-of-7 shooting start to the game, Antetokounmpo kept his composure and managed to have 20 points on 9-of-18 shooting at the half. With no other Buck in double figures in scoring, Antetokounmpo did what he could to shoulder the load. He carried that over into the second half, as he didn’t let up in the slightest despite the 21-point deficit he and the Bucks stared in the face.

Antetokounmpo scored 14 points in the third quarter, having shot 5-of-8 from the floor, including 1-of-2 from three. Thanks to a strong quarter from the Greek Freak, the Bucks trailed by 10 after the third and had some momentum going into the final period. Antetokounmpo was masterful in the final frame, having notched a double-double with 20 points and 10 rebounds in 11 minutes. Whether he attacked the rim or knocked down jumpers, Antetokounmpo was in the zone and willed this team to a hard-fought victory that went down to the closing seconds.

After 48 minutes of chaos, the Bucks secured a 106-105 win on their home floor as Giannis had a sensational 54 points and 19 rebounds. To put Antetokounpo’s 54 points into perspective, the rest of the Bucks combined for 52 points in total. Antetokounmpo never ceases to amaze the masses, and last night was just yet another testament to his sheer greatness.

After the win, the Bucks improved to 35-17 and remain just two games back of the top seed in the NBA’s Eastern Conference.
