The 2023 NBA Trade Deadline is almost here, and a beat writer may have just shed some insight on the Milwaukee Bucks’ plans.

During Wednesday’s matchup between the Detroit Pistons and Cleveland Cavaliers, The Athletic’s James Edwards III, who covers the former, name-dropped the Bucks when asked if Detriot would make a deal. Specifically, Edwards said, “Keep an eye on the Milwaukee Bucks.”

When one thinks of a possible trade between the Bucks and Pistons, the likeliest candidate to get brought up is Bojan Bogdanovic. It has been widely reported that Milwaukee has been interested in adding the veteran for months now, and understandably so. Bogdanovic has been having one of his best seasons to date by averaging 21.4 points per game while shooting 42 percent from three. He would undoubtedly give the Bucks more offensive firepower to surround their Big 3 with.

While Bogdanovic is the only Piston the Bucks have been publicly linked to, that does not mean a possible deal has to involve him. Other Pistons who have been swirling in trade rumors include the trio of Alec Burks, Saddiq Bey, and Nerlens Noel. Burks would make some sense, as he would give Milwaukee a second unit shot creator and a bigger wing at 6-foot-6. Bey is interesting, as he has flashed signs of potential over the years and is still young. Noel would not make as much sense as either of those two, given Milwaukee’s need for more wing depth rather than a big man.

Who knows, maybe a deal involves none of the above and it will blindside the fans if anything does go down.

Whatever the case, this is an interesting development to keep an eye on with the trade deadline less than 24 hours away. Bogdanovic is certainly the guy to monitor closely here. Fans can argue about whether or not the Bucks should go all-in to meet Detroit’s hefty asking price, but there is no denying that adding a player like that would be significant.

Stay tuned to see if anything materializes between the Bucks and Pistons in the coming hours.
