Who should the Milwaukee Bucks sign with their final roster spot? – The case for A.J. Green

After going undrafted, the Bucks swiftly signed A.J. Green to one of their two-way deals. While his role has not been significant, Green has caught some deserving attention whenever he has played.

Excluding Meyers Leonard, who has only played five games with the team, Green currently has the best 3-point percentage on the team at 43.3 percent. The 23-year-old has not been shy about his marksmanship and has been given the greenest of lights offensively. Given how much the Bucks thrive with good 3-point shooting, inking Green to a real deal could make sense. Two-way players cannot appear in the playoffs, which means that Green wouldn’t be eligible to hit the floor when they roll around as things stand.

Year in and year out, the Bucks have always targeted a player whose role solely revolves around their ability to shoot the long ball to space the floor for Giannis Antetokounmpo. Kyle Korver, Bryn Forbes, and Grayson Allen have filled this role over the past few years, and Green could be next in line. If he can continue shooting the three-ball this well, Green could have a home in Milwaukee for a long time, and handing him a standard deal right now would show the team’s confidence in him.
