The Milwaukee Bucks recently filled out their point guard rotation by inking Goran Dragic to a deal for the remainder of the season.
Dragic has been sidelined since joining the Bucks with left knee soreness, which was expected due to him missing time with the Chicago Bulls for the same reason before being waived. According to the NBA’s latest injury report, Dragic is officially listed as “probable” due to his knee soreness for a Saturday night clash with the Golden State Warriors. That means the guard is likely set to make his Bucks debut on national television against the defending champions.
Will Goran Dragic make his anticipated Milwaukee Bucks debut tonight?
If Dragic does indeed take the court, it will be his first game since February 13. That knee soreness has been troublesome, but the guard is seemingly trending in the right direction. In the event that he does play, Dragic will almost certainly be kept on a tight minutes restriction, as the Bucks have always been careful when it comes to injuries and soreness.
Bucks fans are not expecting Dragic to be a day-one game-changer, but he could undoubtedly be a nice addition to this roster. The point guard brings experience, scoring, shooting, and facilitating, all of which will help him fit nicely with the rest of the team. As far as late-season buyout signings go, Dragic is about as good as it gets, even if he is not the same player he once was.
When the Bucks are potentially without a key player or two, Dragic could be used to give the team a boost. That could very well be the case tonight, as Giannis Antetokounmpo is questionable with both an illness and right hand soreness. No one would expect Dragic to pick up the Greek Freak’s slack, but the guard could surely provide some points and assists in his absence to do his part in aiding Milwaukee’s other stars.
Barring a change, it looks like Dragic is set to play for the Bucks for the first time tonight in a big game against the Warriors.
Stay tuned to see how the 36-year-old performs for the Bucks.
