3 Milwaukee Bucks currently having a big month of March – Brook Lopez
Brook Lopez is having a renaissance year.
After missing most of last season due to a back injury, he’s shown this season why he’s so valuable to Milwaukee.
Lopez this month is already averaging 21.3 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 3.5 blocks in six games. He’s also put together three games this month in which he’s scored over 20 points (Philadelphia, Orlando, and Brooklyn).
But Lopez has made more of an impact on the defensive end as he had a career-high nine blocks on Thursday night against the Brooklyn Nets. That is the type of impact that Lopez has had on the defensive end, and his presence is one of the reasons why Milwaukee is ranked 1st in team defense. (Via NBA Stats).
Lopez with each game has strengthened his case to be Defensive Player of the Year. There is nobody who has had a bigger impact defensively than Lopez, and we’ve had a large enough sample size to show that Milwaukee’s defense isn’t nearly as prolific without Lopez on the floor.
Lopez has had a solid month thus far, and his presence on both ends of the floor has been one of the keys to Milwaukee’s success this season.
