Khris Middleton continues finding his groove as the Bucks beat Spurs
Middleton wasted no time getting on the board as he scored the game’s first points with a floater inside. Whether he was knocking down jump shots or taking it to the rim, Middleton looked good on the offensive end early, particularly from 2-point range. In addition to his scoring, Middleton’s facilitating capabilities were on full display, having dished out an eye-catching seven assists in the first half alone to go with 11 points. In the second half, Middleton stayed hot by notching eight more points on 4-of-6 shooting while adding three more assists to his overall total.
In total, Middleton finished with 19 points on 53.3 percent shooting, 10 assists, three rebounds, and a steal in just under 29 minutes. Middleton’s night was not perfect, as he shot just 1-of-6 on his 3-pointers and tallied six turnovers, but he still put up a solid performance all around with his fourth double-double of the season.
The forward has been in a great groove all month long, having averaged 18.3 points while hitting 45.4 percent of his field goals and 40 percent of his 3-pointers, four rebounds, and seven assists in 31.1 minutes in eight appearances thus far. With 10 regular season games left to play, it is good to see Middleton playing his best basketball of the season with the postseason nearing. Of course, the Milwaukee Bucks will need him if they are to make any noise this season.
With the win, the Bucks moved to 52-20 and have a 2.5 game lead over the Boston Celtics for the Eastern Conference’s top overall seed.
Keep an eye on Khris Middleton down the stretch to see if he can keep this momentum going.
