Is Jrue Holiday playing? Breaking down Bucks’ injury report vs. Pistons
By Dalton Sell
After an ugly loss to the Denver Nuggets, the Milwaukee Bucks are set to continue their road trip as they visit the Detroit Pistons. Before that matchup tips off later on tonight, let us break down Milwaukee’s injury report.
Is Jrue Holiday playing? Breaking down Bucks’ injury report vs. Pistons
According to the NBA’s latest injury report, the team has listed two players as probable and three as out. Jae Crowder (left calf soreness), and Goran Dragic (left knee soreness) are probable to play, while Meyers Leonard (left calf soreness), Jrue Holiday (personal), and Giannis Antetokounmpo (knee soreness) are all out.
Antetokounmpo has dealt with this knee soreness all season, and it appears that he is going to get a rest after previously being listed as probable. Between this knee soreness and Antetokounmpo’s recent hand troubles, a day off could do him some good.
Crowder has been out of the lineup since March 14 due to this soreness, and it is great to see him upgraded to probable with the Bucks looking to close out the regular season strong. He’s shown in recent weeks that he is a seamless fit on this team, and his presence will help the Bucks mightily.
Meanwhile, it is compelling to see Dragic upgraded to probable. He’s been plagued by this lingering knee soreness since he signed with the Bucks and has not yet played in a game with the team. He might not play a major role with the Bucks, but having Dragic will be a solid addition to the roster. He can be used in spurts to alleviate pressure off of Milwaukee’s other main ball handlers.
Leonard has been out of the lineup since March 16 due to this ongoing calf soreness. He’s played solid basketball in limited minutes this year and has been a solid third center behind Brook Lopez and Bobby Portis. Hopefully Leonard can make his return soon as the Bucks look to get everyone on this Milwaukee roster healthy.
Holiday was a late addition to the injury report, and we hope he is well with this personal issue.
Getting Crowder back and integrating Dragic into the swing of things is a big step in a huge game against the Pistons. Playing without several crucial cogs will certainly make things harder, but the Bucks will aim to gain more ground in the Eastern Conference standings with a win tonight.
Be sure to tune in as the Milwaukee Bucks take on the Detroit Pistons at 6:00 p.m. CST.
