3 – Joe Ingles and Grayson Allen have provided elite shooting and more
Entering the playoffs, there were some questions about how the Bucks would handle their wing rotation, and two players under the microscope were Joe Ingles and Grayson Allen. Neither player has made a living in this league on the defensive end, so many questioned whether their roles may be lessened in the postseason. Well, it’s been just the opposite so far, and rightfully so.
Across these first two games, Ingles has been excellent. He’s averaged 13 points while shooting a red-hot 64.3 percent from the floor and 61.5 percent from deep while handing out three assists in 20 minutes on average off the bench. Another plus is that Ingles hasn’t looked lost defensively, as he’s held his own pretty well. Ingles has the potential to be a difference-maker for the Bucks in the playoffs due to outings like this. His facilitating and shooting are extremely valuable, as he has shown in these first two games.
Meanwhile, all eyes have been on Allen in these playoffs. Leading up to the postseason, fans have said that the guard could very well be playing for his future in Milwaukee following a debacle in last year’s playoffs. So far, Allen has played well by averaging 14 points while hitting 55.6 percent of his field goals and 50 percent of his triples. Again, it’s a small sample size, but it is welcoming to see Allen get off on the right foot and give the Milwaukee Bucks a huge boost. Consistency will be the key for Allen moving forward.
It is no secret that 3-point shooting has been a major key for the Bucks in the playoffs over these past few years, and if Ingles and Allen can keep shooting like this, it would help mightily.
