8 stats you may not know about Bucks players on the All-NBA teams
One: Giannis’ seven All-NBA team selections are the most in Bucks’ history. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Sidney Moncrief each made the All-NBA team five times with Milwaukee. The only other Bucks players to make the All-NBA team multiple times are Marques Johnson (he made it three times) and Terry Cummings (he made it twice).
Two: Only four Bucks have made first team All-NBA… Antetokounmpo-(2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023), Abdul-Jabbar-(1971, 1972, 1973, 1974), Johnson-(1979) and Moncrief-(1983).
Three: Five different Milwaukee Bucks players were second-team selections. Moncrief was a second-team choice on four occasions, Johnson and Antetokounmpo were selected twice to the second team, and Abdul-Jabbar and Cummings each were a second-team selection once.
Four: Four different Bucks made the All-NBA team once in their careers as a third team choice: Vin Baker (1997), Ray Allen (2001), Michael Redd (2004), and Andrew Bogut (2010). Cummings was the only other Milwaukee player to get a third-team nod (that was in 1989).
Five: Only once in team history did two Milwaukee Bucks make the All-NBA team: In 1985, Sidney Moncrief and Terry Cummings were second-team selections.
Six: Giannis’ seven All-NBA selections leave him three short of 10 for a career. There have been 25 players who have made the All-NBA in 10 or more seasons. LeBron James heads this list with 19 followed by Kobe Bryant, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, and Tim Duncan with 15 each.
Seven: The longest span when Milwaukee did not have a player on the All-NBA team was seven years from 1990 to 1996.
Eight: The longest streak of Bucks’ players on the All-NBA team was eight straight years from 1979 to 1986. Marques Johnson, Sidney Moncrief, and Terry Cummings made the All-NBA team during that span.
