4 Khris Middleton sign and trades to keep Milwaukee Bucks in contention
The Bucks trade Middleton to the Pistons
The Milwaukee Bucks first acquired Khris Middleton as a throw-in from a deal with the Detroit Pistons, and Motor City has had to watch as he blossomed into a three-time All-Star with their Central Division foes. With Detroit looking to turn their rebuild around immediately, could a reunion be in the cards?
The Bucks send Marchon Beauchamp along with Khris Middleton, giving the Pistons both their starting small forward and their backup. Middleton and Cade Cunningham would be a formidable pairing at the two and the three, with Jaden Ivey and Jalen Duren developing around them.
The Bucks get back Bojan Bogdanovic in the deal, a former target of theirs who can space the floor and play as a jumbo small forward or small-ball power forward. Cory Joseph bolsters their backcourt rotation, while Bagley III is outgoing salary the Pistons are offloading to make up for trading Bogdanovic. This deal doesn’t make the Bucks better than they were this season, but it certainly gives them a lot of depth.
