Pros and cons of the Milwaukee Bucks reigniting their Chris Paul interest
Con: Paul has a history of choking when it matters most
There is no doubt that Paul is one of the best point guards the NBA has ever seen. Not only is he a first-ballot Hall of Famer, but he’s also one of the 10 best players to ever man the point guard position. However, you can’t deny that Paul has consistently underperformed when it mattered most.
Whether it be his consistently disappointing Lob City Clippers team or when he even blew it against the Bucks in the NBA Finals, Paul always seems to lose on the biggest stage, and it’s been very unfortunate to watch over the years.
Maybe putting Paul in Milwaukee and making him the fourth option could help out with this problem. Despite this, it’s still a reasonable concern to have when considering whether or not the Bucks should sign him. Antetokounmpo, Middleton, and Holiday can easily help mitigate his shortcomings, but to what extent?
If Paul decides to sign in Milwaukee, there will be no excuses for him to fail again. This will be arguably the best team he’s ever played for, and he can’t afford to fall short if he wishes to finally win a championship before he eventually retires.
