The Milwaukee Bucks officially introduced Adrian Griffin as head coach recently as a new era for the Bucks begins. With many questions still to be answered about those currently on the roster and who can be brought in, Griffin will play a huge part in deciding what direction he wants his team to go.

There are decisions to be made over the likes of Khris Middleton and his player option, Brook Lopez and his contract being up, and the potential to trade Jrue Holiday.

With that being said, a new era for the Milwaukee Bucks begins under Adrian Griffin, and here are three trade targets that have ties to Adrian Griffin.

No. 1 – Fred VanVleet, Toronto Raptors

Fred VanVleet has been involved in plenty of trade talks recently following an underwhelming season for him and the Toronto Raptors. He still put up 19.3 points per game on almost 40 percent shooting, whilst averaging seven assists per game and almost two steals. The real drop-off for the guard was in his 3-point shooting, dropping from 37.7 percent in 2021-22 to just 34.2 percent this past season.

VanVleet has spent seven seasons in Canada and, since arriving in the league, has constantly improved and has a ring to his name. Griffin joined the Raptors prior to their title-winning 2018-19 season. That season was a quiet one for VanVleet as the roster still included veteran point guard Kyle Lowry and, of course, Kawhi Leonard leading the team, but since then, he has grown into a very valuable player for Toronto.

According to Sportrac.com, VanVleet has a player option for next season worth $22.8m. If he was to pick up this player option, then the Bucks can show interest in him, and with that being his potential final heading towards the free agency of 2024, it may be easier to trade for him on that expiring deal. His ability to play make and shot create would be valuable for the Bucks, and with Griffin spending many years now with him, there may be the potential for him to move to Milwaukee.
