Due to their roster primarily being comprised of experienced veterans, the Milwaukee Bucks have not had too many young players break out production-wise in recent memory.

They will aim to change that this coming season, as the team seems to be emphasizing the youth on the roster much more under Head Coach Adrian Griffin. Young guys could see actual roles with the Bucks during the 2023-24 NBA season, which would be quite a change. If so, here are three of the young Milwaukee Bucks who could have breakout years.

A.J. Green is a breakout candidate for the Milwaukee Bucks

A.J. Green’s rookie year wasn’t too eventful, as the two-way shooting guard spent most of his time on the sidelines. However, when he did play, the undrafted Green often showed a glimpse of what he could bring to the table, which made it an easy decision for the Bucks not only to bring him back in free agency but to also hand him a standard contract over another two-way deal.

Last season, Green was one of the most efficient shooters on the team, having hit 41.9 percent of his total triples. Outside shooting is Green’s greatest strength, and in a larger role, he can use it to help this group mightily moving forward. Playing with Giannis Antetokounmpo, Khris Middleton, and others, the guard will get plenty of open looks to capitalize on offensively.

If Green can knock down triples with regularity in a larger role, there’s certainly going to be room for him in the rotation. He could be a huge boost offensively off of the bench and give this team a key floor-spacer to make life easier for Milwaukee’s facilitators. The biggest area Green must work on is his defense, but at 23 years old, he’s got plenty of room to develop at the NBA level.

A breakout year could be near for the undrafted Green, but it all revolves around his 3-point shot and improved play on the defensive side of things.
