B/R’s Trade Targets for the Milwaukee Bucks – Alec Burks

The first name mentioned is 32-year-old Detroit Pistons’ guard Alec Burks. Over this past season, he has been linked to a lot of teams that would be looking to add a piece to help push them over the hump to win a title. B/R thinks the Milwaukee Bucks could join the list.

Last season he averaged 12.8 points on 43.6 percent shooting and hitting a huge 41.4 percent from beyond the arc. With those shooting stats alone he should be a real target for the Bucks, and they may have previously contacted their divisional rivals regarding his availability.

Off the bench, he would be a valuable piece and could run the point but has usually played at the two or three, which will depend on who else is still on the court for Milwaukee. His experience too is something the Bucks can rely on to help mentor the likes of MarJon Beauchamp and Andre Jackson Jr. as they both look to break into the rotation and hone their skills.

With the Pistons having a young roster and looking to the future, Burks may be available as he is in the last year of his contract. The only issue may be if other teams are looking for him and then it becomes a competition for the best trade package, and with the assets the Bucks have, they may need to overpay to acquire him.

BTBP Verdict: Pursue

I think the Bucks should pursue Burks. He has the skillset to add to the roster, and his shooting would be a great addition off the bench or even starting in the backcourt alongside Holiday. He could be a target closer to the trade deadline, but for me, he should be someone the front office looks at to help improve the roster.
