Ranking every move by the Milwaukee Bucks during 2023 NBA off-season

No. 9 – Re-signing A.J. Green
This was an absolute no-brainer move for the Milwaukee Bucks. A.J. Green played fairly well in a limited role during his rookie campaign, and he looked like a piece that could be worth developing. The Bucks shared the same belief, handing Green a new contract that will keep him around for at least next season. With that said, a big sophomore season could be on the horizon for A.J. Green.
Green’s likeliest avenue to becoming a regular in the rotation starts with his perimeter shooting. During his rookie year, the marksman shot 41.9 percent from behind the arc, having made a very strong impression in his limited minutes. If he can keep knocking down his triples in a bigger role, he could find himself on the floor alongside Giannis Antetokounmpo and others more often.
Green has “breakout candidate” written all over him for 2023-24. If he does take advantage of the opportunity, the youngster could quickly cement himself as one of the better hidden gem finds for the Bucks in recent memory, as he was undrafted in 2022. The guard’s contract could become one of the bigger steals on the entire team if A.J. Green lives up to his lofty year-two expectations.
