No. 1 – MarJon Beauchamp

With Coach Griffin likely pushing for defense, MarJon Beauchamp is the team’s best option to take the final starting spot. While Damian Lillard won’t be Jrue Holiday defensively, having Beauchamp, Middleton, Antetokounmpo, and Lopez there to back him up will make up for the loss of Holiday. If the Bucks genuinely want to prioritize defense, Beauchamp should be their choice.

Although he received limited minutes as a rookie last season, Beauchamp showed glimpses of his potential. Beauchamp has the potential to be an elite defender, and if he can figure out the offensive side of things, he will be a tremendous two-way weapon with his athleticism.

This summer, Beauchamp showed signs of improving offensively when scoring 83 points at the CrawsOver event. While an event in the summer may not be the be-all-tell-all for Beauchamp, 83 points is not usual in any basketball setting.

It is a real leap for Beauchamp, as he has already brought it into the preseason. Beauchamp led all scorers in the team’s first preseason game on Sunday with 18 points, including two clutch free throws to seal the game. If Beauchamp’s offensive ascension remains, his ability as a two-way player makes him the best option to start for the Bucks this season.
