The Milwaukee Bucks are going to find out if Erik Spoelstra was right about Kel’el Ware. During his time with the Miami heat, Ware didn't get a ton of opportunities on the court. At least, in comparison to how many opportunities it felt like he deserved based on his potential. And that's because Spoelstra didn't love him.
Time and time again, quotes came out from Spoelstra. Something negative about Ware. Whether it was his work ethic, his effort in a game, or something he messed up on the court, there always seemed to be something about Ware. Spoelstra always had something to say about him, and more often than not, it was negative. Or at least, negatively slanted.
But now, Ware is in Milwaukee. In theory, he should have more freedom to play regular NBA minutes than he ever has before. So, the Bucks are going to find out who is right: Spoelstra or Ware.

Coming out of the draft, it felt like the Heat had gotten a steal. Ware was built like an NBA player. He was massive and seemed to have a ton of potential on both ends of the court.
His height and wingspan made him the perfect build to be a shot-blocker, and his three-point shot meant that the Heat could put him in different places on the offensive end as well.
But again, it feels like Spoelstra never really loved him. Ware never got a ton of chances, and there were a few times where he even got yanked from the game.
Comments about work ethic, effort, and other things of that nature became all too common during Ware’s time in Miami. And that's definitely a concern if you're the Bucks.
If Ware shows those same signs in milwaukee, then the Bucks aren't going to be too thrilled. It would be the second team on which Ware has gotten comments about low effort and low energy.
And at that point, it would definitely feel like Ware is the problem. However, if Ware comes to town and thrives, then maybe there was just a problem brewing between him and Spoelstra.
Obviously, Spoelstra is one of the greatest coaches of all time. But perhaps he and Ware just didn't mesh well. Maybe all Ware needed was a change of scenery.
The Bucks are going to find that out this season. Which Ware will they get when it matters most?
