The Milwaukee Bucks should use the inevitable Jaylen Brown trade to spearhead a Myles Turner deal.

As the Jaylen Brown trade saga drags on, the Milwaukee Bucks need to keep their eyes on things because they could have a chance to trade Myles Turner in the aftermath. Depending on where Brown ends up, they could find a potential trade destination for Turner, which would help them keep loading up on assets.

Turner is a fine player. But the Bucks don’t really need him right now. He doesn’t fit their timeline, and the Bucks would probably be better off moving him to another team. And if the team Brown ends up on needs a center (because they traded theirs in the Brown trade), perhaps they could send Turner there. Or maybe Boston would want Turner.

Milwaukee just needs to stay locked in.

Bucks should use Jaylen Brown trade as launching point for Myles Turner deal

Turner is a solid 3-and-D center. He could provide the right team with quality minutes at the five with his rim protection and floor spacing (even though he hasn’t always been super efficient).

The question is, which teams in the Brown sweepstakes could be interested in adding Turner to the mix? There are definitely a few squads the Bucks should be keeping tabs on.

Take a look at the Portland Trail Blazers. It seems unlikely, as they probably want to keep him, but what if they give up Donovan Clingan in a potential trade for Brown?

The Blazers would need to add another center, and Turner could be a potential option for them, should they still have enough salary in place to match his contract.

Would the Toronto Raptors want Turner? If they traded Collin Murray-Boyles and/or Jakob Poeltl in a trade for Brown, maybe they would want to add Turner as their new starting five.

Then there’s the Celtics. They could be looking to add some center depth this summer, regardless of the Brown trade, so perhaps they could want to bring Turner on board.

The point is, no matter where Boston ends up sending Brown, the Bucks should see if a team could want Turner. He could hold some value for the right team if placed in the right situation.

And as the Bucks look to move forward into the future with a new-look core, moving Turner could be a smart decision this summer. He doesn’t project to be a big part of Milwaukee’s long-term plans.

The inevitable Brown trade could open up a pathway for the Bucks to get rid of Turner on the trade market this summer.
