The Milwaukee Bucks will leave no stone unturned in their quest to upgrade the roster. That involves keeping an eye on overseas talent, which is just what they should be doing with Brandon Boston Jr. After four years in the NBA, Boston has signed a one-year deal with Fenerbahçe Beko, where he will look to strengthen his game. NBA teams will certainly be keeping an eye on him.

Bucks should keep tabs on Brandon Boston Jr.

Boston would have made plenty of sense for the Milwaukee Bucks this summer. As evidenced by the recent Amir Coffey training camp signing, this team is still looking at small forward options. Amidst a youth overhaul, the Bucks adding a 23-year-old in Boston would have fit right in line, bringing in a youngster who just had the best year of his NBA career.

In 42 games with the New Orleans Pelicans, who the Bucks should be watching for a different reason, last year, Boston averaged 10.7 points, 3.2 rebounds, 2.2 assists, and 1.3 steals as he cracked over 20 minutes per game for the first time in his career. Boston's career year was cut short due to ankle surgery back in April, but the potential of what he could be was on full display.

Boston will now head overseas, and if he performs well, NBA teams will certainly give him calls about returning to the league at some point. Teams can always use a 6-foot-7, two-way wing who is under 25 years old to beef up their rotation. With the emphasis on youth the NBA is trending toward, that type of build will only become more important.

Overseas hidden gems are nothing new recently. After two years overseas, Dante Exum returned to the NBA over the past two seasons and was a shining light for the Dallas Mavericks when healthy. Despite not playing in the association since 2018-19, Guerschon Yabusele was a crucial piece of the Philadelphia 76ers this past season and signed a big deal with the New York Knicks.

Brandon Boston Jr. could be the next overseas project who returns to the NBA as a better player and can help a team looking to contend. That team could very well be the Milwaukee Bucks. There's just no telling how this small forward rotation will look this season, as it is undeniably one of the clear-cut weaknesses of this current group.
